In short: Box Keeper stores your data on your device and in your personal iCloud account. We don't have access to your data, we don't sell it, and we don't track you.
What Data We Collect
Box Keeper is designed with privacy in mind. Here's what we handle:
Your inventory data (spaces, boxes, items, photos) is stored locally on your device and synced to your personal iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit. We never have access to this data.
Crash reports and basic analytics are collected via Firebase to help us fix bugs and improve the app. These do not contain your inventory data or personal information.
Purchase information is processed by Apple (App Store) and RevenueCat (our subscription management provider) to manage your Pro subscription. We do not store payment details.
AI Photo Recognition
If you are a Pro subscriber and have AI Recognition enabled:
When you add a photo to an item, it may be sent to our secure servers for analysis by a third-party AI service to suggest item names and tags.
Photos are transmitted encrypted and are used solely for recognition purposes.
Photos are not stored by our servers or the AI provider after processing.
No personal information is associated with the images sent for recognition.
You can disable AI Recognition at any time in Settings.
iCloud Sync & Sharing
Your data syncs across your devices using your personal iCloud account. Apple manages this data under their own privacy policy.
If you share a space with others, the shared data is visible to participants you invite. You control who has access.
What We Don't Do
We don't sell or share your personal data with advertisers.
We don't track your location.
We don't require an account or login.
We don't have access to your inventory data.
We don't store your photos on our servers.
Data Retention
Your inventory data lives on your device and in your iCloud account. If you delete the app, your local data is removed. iCloud data can be managed through your Apple ID settings.
Children's Privacy
Box Keeper does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app does not require any personal information to use.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
